Nature as inspiration

Many people tend to regard plastic as a modern and synthetic material. However, plastic was, in fact, already invented in the USA in 1868 in the pursuit of finding an alternative to ivory. As a result, the molecular structure of plastic is also a copy of some of nature’s most important building blocks such as starch, cellulose and proteins. These substances are commonly referred to as polymers. For the same reason, professionals in today’s world also refer to plastic as polymers.

As most people know, the prefix ‘poly’ means more or many. And by imitating the molecular structure of these natural substances, more than 100 types of plastic with very different properties and characteristics have been created. With the name POLYGROUP, we want to emphasize the many opportunities which exist in the world of polymers.

Unfortunately, many people associate plastic with single use packaging, marine pollution and harmful chemicals. However, the truth is that if you produce quality products with a long shelf life, plastic is one of the materials which has the least impact on the environment, if you look at the overall journey from cradle to grave. This is the reason we have made quality and plastic two sides of the same coin.

Although we work with moulds and fixed agreements, we are not square. As our name suggests, we know that problems and challenges can always be seen from several sides. This is the reason why we are chronically curious, and we see opportunities where other people see limitations. And we will not stop until all options have been explored and tested.

POLYGROUP is environmentally certified in ISO-14001
